beardies are at most reptile sponsors, pet magic Cannington has a few, otherwise gumtree has a couple up for sale, you'll just have to go through a licenced dealer to transfer the animal on to your licence.
leopard geckos are American. we can only keep reptile species that are native and more specifically endemic to WA.
Geckos are easy and cheap, and most require minimal licence of category 2. There nocturnal so really don't require UV lighting just a heat source, in the form of a heat lamp, heat mat, cord etc.
But I found them to be very inactive and slightly more boring then say bearded dragons if you want lizards. They require more space and care but maybe worth the extra effort are far more fond of handling IMO.
I found lizards more work then my aquarium hence giving up on them (just sold my last lot of pygmy monitors now) to specialize in pythons only - especially now that list has been upgraded!!
internet has a fair bit of info, just be specie specific in your searches.
otherwise pet magic is a good place to start I find, and is also a sponsor so you get a discount shopping there lol.

Western Australia
It is currently regarded as a serious offence to keep any reptile for hobbyist purposes. The WA government is considering changes to this law.

Ahhhh. nope.
We have able to keep selected reptile species in WA for 10 odd years now.
Visit the DEC website and browse the pages keeping reptiles as pets.
There are licencing conditions and selected species to keep.

DEC no longer exists. DPaW (Department of Parks and Wildlife) is now responsible for reptile licensing.

Please note that the approved reptile list linked on this page is outdated, as a new list was gazetted yesterday.
Here is a link to the new list - http://www.slp.wa.go...$file/gg163.pdf
