Yerp that's it!
Cheap arse thermometers off eBay! $1 each and now I know why!
The temp was actually 24c

yeh i bought a heap aswell, had about 1 broken from the get go and had 2 more die on me out of about 6

I find the rounded ones with the suction cup better.

You sure you've got it set for temperature. I think you'll find it's set on the depth finder setting. (63.2cms)

Lol they're play toys for my Rotti :) actually I'm pretty sure my Rotti thinks she's a Maltese as well..

The aqua one ones? I have had probably 4-5 over the past two years and not one of them has given me a correct reading, they do however tend to sit on about 2 degrees hotter than the actual water temp. Glass is the way to go imo, or one of those stainless steal heaters with the LCD thermometer reading.

if you want an accurate thermometer, get a sera precision. best you can get IMO

I can see the C for Celsius in the pic, may be worth converting fahrenheit into celsius to see if it seems close to what your tank should be?
