Substrate is 1-2mm black/brown sand from Vebas. Please note there is actaully no nutrition in the sand.

Close...

Cheeky. Thinking about it, maybe i should change to clear pipes

Snails..... Thanks Bermont.... nah I don't think it was him, I got them from the LFS when I bought the fluffy plants. They are now 'under control'.

I decided that they are ok, as long as they are not in plague proportions.

I think the plants are getting food from a few things.

1) Basically I never vacuum the substrate so any little sedements can soak into it. Also this allows the substrate to become anaerobic (I think that this the term), basically it is kind of a living thing, with algae and bacteria growning in it, like a filter.

2) I try to reduce the amounts of times I move plants so that the roots have a changes to grow.

3) I have a pretty fish heavy tank, all that breathing is producing little too much CO2 so the plants are eating it all up. I have a bubbler on in the background as once I noticed all my fish breathing a bit too eratically.

4) My DIY LED lights are doing really well.

Actaully I have 8 Corydoras, they like to mingle under the log.

It was. But there is still the question. Why is that sword so long? Is it flowering?

Guess what my answer is:

  1. It is flowering;
  2. The new leaf is trying to reach the top for greater light exposure;
  3. It is aroused; or
  4. I have no idea - ask Ollie, Rovik or Saj

You can still get the plants going. If you look at some of my photos, I used to not have many plants at all

its just growing dude its gonna fill out massive :rip: tank space

Or it could be a surface leaf my tri colour lotus has some leaves that grow emersed for some reason i think it might be to do with the flowering cycle of the pant or something (to do with your photo period)
