the long spike is flowering/propagating. If it goes above the water line it will flower, if kept below new swords will start to develop on the stem (sometimes both).

Ahh, Cool. So it is a win/win situation. It will either flower and look cool (Never seen that before), or I can harvest the propagating and re-plant. Sweet.

I am going to give my tank a few more weeks before I start pruning and moving some of the plants that have taken over the front of the tank.

I also like the idea of getting some red ones that Jason82 suggests. Tank is a little too green :)

Also, in a couple weeks I guess I will have some free vallis available too :)

The coolest red plant is the red tiger lotus. However, it's from Africa and I hate mixing fish and plants from different regions.

The coolest red plant is by far Red Rotala.

BTW Anka, didn't I just hear this the other day?

"You know these plants aren't from South America right?..."

"HaHa... Yeah, I don't care anymore I just want it to look good"

Not word for word but the gist is there. Lol

Yeah, dont let plant country positions get in the way of a cool looking tank.
