Hi,
I was wondering if some one could tell me some info on the L catfish.
I want to know if they are territorial or aggresive stuff like that cause i was thinking of putting some in my dwarf tank.
Info would be great, thanks.

L104 would be a good start since it's a dwarf cat.

the most common L numbers are L104 and L168. They are the cheapest to T.

There are over 400 different L numbers - Granted some of them have more than one number.

Like couple of people have said L104 and L168 are the most common. L104 would be a good one to start with, as like Daz says they are smaller than others. L168's lose a lot of their colour when they get larger unfortunately. Both are on the easier side to breed when it comes to L numbers also.

If you are going to go with more than 1 I would suggest grabbing a pair of one species that way is a chance you may end up with a pair and can always try others at a later point in time, and also likely to be a bigger range at more reasonable prices also.

Like highlucks said planetcatfish is one of the best sites if not the best out. Also plecofanatics forum if you do not know about, I would check it out loads of information/pictures/help etc available.

Cool L-numbers? Depends on what you like lol

Some would say a certain number is cool while others think not, in the end it is up to you

L-numbers are very addictive, and a lot of breeders keep to themselves selling to people who they trust or ask a friend to sell for them. This depends on which numbers of course. As some Ls are very expensive - at last count $1,500 for a 3cm L046 there are some even more costly, but we may never know biggrin.gif

Before rushing into it, check out what is available, do your research, as Ls can seriously burn a hole in your pocket.

Nah, not planning to biggrin.gif

But word has it that the last 3cm was worth $1500 though, if it is cheap then the guy who told me might have paid a little too much *chuckles*
