Rays should be the price they are, very specific requirements and lack of aquarium keeping skills will make these creatures suffer.
The cost of food, required tank space, effort and energy as well as designer appeal to them keep there prices up.
Rays have lowered in price, bichirs, sky rocketed....
When I saw a pair of sens asking 2k over east I nearly had a heart attack, would much Rather my mantilla ray for that kinda money....
None the less, I'd pay what I have to for a female senagel atm, poor male is looking lonely....

Bichir fry- crappy pics but you get the general idea. Approx 30 still looking good but a few that really stand out. Bit of predation going on unfortunately and my baby tanks are all packed into moving boxes. Natural selection might take it's toll on the numbers and it might be a case of hunt or be the hunted until we unpack our stuff!

Seems the pseudo society had become realistic now on prices.  Better take advantage before they change their mind.  The surge of frys and juvy bichir from unknown sources may have influence it as they are not the only one having this species and as I told you - its very common.

Any update on these Birchir? I have recently been looking at getting a pair before quickly lowering my standards and looking for at least one! I would be so keen to grab some
