Azza I've been feeding the big mofo new era pellets to jack for about 3 months now, his poo is now solid white logs instead of red dusty slimy crap, I feed half as much as i used to and hes looking awesome.

More than welcome to come for a beer next time you're in the area mate, i'm not far from Aquotix :)

#300909 Shark Cull

Posted by ice on 26 November 2013 - 12:31 PM

Totally agree, its not the sharks fault its hungry and a predator doing what it was put on this earth to do, prey on things that are stupid enough to get in the water during their peak feeding times.

Honestly if you aren't prepared to take the risk then don't endanger yourself by swimming in an area where you can be attacked by a shark, its as simple as that.

Nobody sane would walk through the African savanna and be surprised when a lion came and attacked you, its the same thing! Even then its not the lions fault, its the idiot who walked through its territory, same would go for a child and a dingo. It's not the dingos fault, its the childs parents fault for not being a responsible person, the dingo was just doing what a dingo does and we all know they enjoy the taste of baby.

Culling such a magnificent animal to make a minority of whiny selfish people feel better is absolutely ridiculous.

Haha thanks for posting the pics babe.

Ok folks, new pics of the big fella! Getting very big and still a complete psycho.

Cod story!
Cod decides it would be a very smart idea to eat his tank mate (a similarly sized Tandanus tandanus) which the catfish was obviously not too keen about and managed to drive a spine through cods bottom jaw before being savaged to death. Cod at this point was in struggle town and in a bit of trouble so we whipped him out of the tank and removed the catfish from his mouth which was now unable to close, possibly due to paralysis from the catfish sting?

After an hour of waiting and hoping he would pull through he didn't, Jack was looking a bit hungry in the next room so I thought bugger it! Long story short i no longer have a pet cod or tandanus and jack is still a happy boy.

Hope you enjoy the pics :)

#290699 Marron And Stuff

Posted by ice on 31 July 2013 - 06:15 AM

If they aren't over crowded and the water quality is good they shouldn't move, Marron usually only "walk" when their living conditions are compromised. My girlfriend and I put a few juvies her mums pond and a year later once they all grew up a bit and started competing for territory they kept finding them walking around the garden at night, one got in the pool and one even managed to make its way into their bedroom, it woke her up at midnight scuttling around on the wood floors!

Imogen got Jack a garfish last night from the fish shop whilst buying our dinner to cheer him up from his lonelyness. He hit it mid body, bent it in half in his mouth and swallowed it whole in a cloud of fish chunks and scales. They truly are a brutal fish haha. We took a video of it on her camera so ill try to get the footage on youtube eventually.

Will have to do a water change tonight haha...

#269379 3d Background

Posted by ice on 27 November 2012 - 05:24 PM

I installed mine with ferrite magnets siliconed to the back of the background with more magnets on the outside to hold it up. Works a bloody treat and is completely removable but almost doubles the cost of the background. Not a fan of sticking them on perminently.

Have finally added Jack to his new 6x2.5x2.5

He seems quite happy and is already terrorising all his tank mates and causing a ruckus. Heres some pics of the setup.

Enjoy!
