Hey everyone. I have come across a mono peacock bass breeding pair, male at 50cm female at 35-40. going threw my first attempt to raising fry. here are some pictures of the parents

just become free swimmers yesterday

Serperated into 5 different fry saver containers in same tank just after turning into free swimmers, re located parents

Now this is my first trial, is this normal for them to bunch up like this in the containers?

Now any advise is please welcome on people that have known people to raise successful fry. for my first trial I decided to put straight into containers due to the amounts of feedings needed the fry can find them straight away. atm there just on micro worms, starting up some hatcheries so than I can start feeding brine shrimp as well. feeding whden ever possible, atm going to start with 6.30, 7.30, 12.30, 4, 6, 8, and 10 (times of feedings)

please let me know any advice or if you suggest im doing something wrong. thank you guys

also here is a little vid of me feeding the parents live food the day after I got them. settled in nicely.

yeah I have heard the name julz a few times when I brought them. the parents got a 50 percent water change weekly, babies are on 15 percent evey couple of days atm sinve there just babies in a 6x2x2. the parents spawned in a 6x2x2 which yes is too small but im organsing bigger atm. right now the parents have been moved into a ibc untill fry are bigger enough to go into another ibc grow out. man did I get soaked moving the male! lol I couldnt see anything in my fish room that wasnt wet lol. did you get any successful batches of fry?

Yeah I read it a few times I was going to let the parents raise for a few weeks but that write up made me put them in fry containers so they get fed better. I'm feeding micro works so hopefully I can feed every few hours except for every hour like what it says. Just like as much advice asi can

when I kept them, spawned at least monthly. Keep well fed, and I found a large water change would trigger them

I had fry constantly hatch but was lazy to rear the fry (lack of time mainly), and the stingrays would often eat the babies over night.

I sold probably 1 year ago to Frontykwal who sold them a few months ago to Muzzybear.

Both with Kwal and I they where in 6x2s (too small though) then into the pond.

I nearly bought them back for my tank, but opted not too and just grow out the small ones I currently have (always fun watching fish grow)

What are you going to grow the fry in after, I suggest 200l olive drums, with sponge filters, heater and weekly 50-70% water changes

when fry are tiny you can always use green water to feed them as well.... :)  mosquito larvae , water boatman etc....

My friend had hundreds of water boatmen in his pool once. They are cool to watch, they almost school like fish...

Most of them were too big to feed to fry though.

If you want an excellent love food for those peacock bass, I have some grindal worm cultures for sale, and micro worms. Just send me a PM if you want some

3 weeks on and a lot have died off. im guessing a 30 percent survival rate on the micro worms. I need to find something that has a higher survive rate. what are grindal worms? are they as small as micro worms?
