Can anybody suggest what would go well with Frontosa biggrin.gif

Had a bit of a look and some people were suggesting Blue Dolphin & Elect yellows

Just wondered if any body had any suggestions

my very first tank was one massive mistake but they all got along so well there all still there this will ruffle a few feathers 2xfronties,jaguar,marbles,dragons,e-blues,e-yellows,devils,dwarf cobolt blue, pike, manangoes? and much more even though im cleaning this up now they all get along with no real drama so id say stay with the same species but it depends on that perticular fishs attitude.I"ve got same species tanks and they seem to fight more so i have to take them out re-arrange stonework and start again. And at times get rid of that fish alltogether.

leleupi's look good with fronts. Just those to types of fish in the same tank is quite effective. Morley Aquariums have a good example.

Leleupis are not a good idea mate.
The guys at morley have a display with these and fronts and they tell me they are always adding more leleupis because they are misteriously going missing biggrin.gif laugh.gif .
Ive heard fronts will eat anything that fits into their mouth and leleupis are not large fish even when adults.

cheers chris

Would have thought Leulepi are the Fronties diet in the wild also. Wouldnt put any long and thin fish in with Fronts at all.

They are similar to fronts.
They are not agressive, grow pretty big and take a while to mature.
This is the alpha male from my colony. Very proud of him biggrin.gif one of my favourite fish and one of the best lookin males ive ever seen laugh.gif biggrin.gif

Juvies are quite readily avaliable, not to sure about adults though, they are always snapped up pretty quickly when they are up for sale. I have 2M 5F and they have bred, but they are not consistent.
this looks to be a juvie male but a female will look like this, except more of a grey/purple with a blue tinge, ofcourse no where near as attractive as the males biggrin.gif

Yeh I do agree with Leleupi's being possible food. I personally keep mine all by themselves. I was told by a bloke at Morley thet they never had any problems with it though :?: I guess you would have to keep them pretty well fed. Phenochilus are a winner though

that fish in the picture is a placidochromis phenochilus 'tanzania'.
the full name just makes it easier when buying as there is another pheno.
ive seen the tanzanias at vebas a while back.also one of my favourite fish. biggrin.gif
