Hey guys had a random thought today and decided to renovate my tank stand. As it is its just a basic wooden stand 6 legs all open etc...

The reno will involve staining up some new wood to make it into a cabinet and not just a stand. Picked up some pine and pine sheets from bunnings + some stain. Will post pictures soon if it all goes to plan.

Any suggestions on how to make a hood would be appreciated

dont delete i have had exams so havent had a chance to upload photos. still trying to work out how to resize to post them

I have made some progress but not alot due to uni and exams.

Trying to decide wether to put four small doors on or two large ones.

I apologise for the lack of posting and pictures it must be frustrating sorry sad.gif .

This is the best i can do until i get home from this pic you can see what the basic frame looked like (the light pine frame underneath) Excuse all the crap in there but they are the mdf shelves i got cut to size and the just slotted in the ends before i put on the side panels.

All the wood is proud of the original stand (on top of) and has been stained with cabots stain and varnish, western jarrah - reasonably priced from bunnings. Requires a good even three coats with each taking around 8 hours to dry so is a good project for a weekend.

not the greatest photo but hopefully will keep you happy until i can work out how to upload the rest.

sorry again for how long it has taken me to upload the photos it has been put on hold a few times due to uni commitments.

This is as far as i have got. Now that i have worked out how to get the photos from my phone to here (im not an idiot it really is gay when new technology i.e. brand new phones arent compatible with the latest OS just a mess around really searching windows forums) if you want any particular information on what i did or close up shots of specific parts i can do that.

Any one have any opinion on what i should do about doors 4 small ones or 2 large ones ?????

cheers
Justin
