Hey Guys,

Just need a bit of advice...
I recently aquired 2 6x1.5x.15 tanks... One with a refugium and plumbing for a sump underneath...
And the other is the "sump" but is pretty much a display tank, no dividers etc...

I have freshwater fish now, and was wondering ...
Should I use the tank with the refugium as a marine, above a sump made from an old 3ft tank I have (Or will that not be a sufficient size)
And then the other tank as a seperate Freshwater tank? Maybe for my breeding O's?

Or should I use them both as freshwater, and if so, is it a good idea to still use the plumbing? And have water circulating through 2 Oscar tanks? Or will that adversely affect both tanks water quality?

Cheers guys,

Ben

Ben if it were me i would keep them plumbed together and use it as a fresh water breeding setup. You could partition one end of the bottom tank and use that as an overflow filter for both tanks.

Thanks Cawdor, I was gonna ask someone to. Not sure what that was about smile.gif

Highlucks the plumbing is in the centre of the top tank... So I was Thiiiinking...
Maybe 2 x 3ft Tanks underneath, One as the sump for the top tank, and the second as a fry tank?
It is gonna be for some O's so they will hopefully gimme lotsa babies smile.gif

If I was to do split bottom tanks, would I just need to get a hole drilled in the side of each, and plumbing between? (Ends covered in mesh or something to stop fish going through?)

Thanks in advance for your help guys...
Stupid me bought too many tanks all at once...
Without realising how much difference a CM can make!!!
Now I do... biggrin.gif

Cheers,

Highlucks smile.gif

Gonna do that smile.gif

Is there a way I could use 2 3ft tanks on the bottom tier, yet still have it set up as a sump system?
ie water flows from top tank into sump, then is pushed through to the 2nd 3ft, and then pumped back up to the display?

(I'd prefer to keep the 2nd 6ft as a display for future wink.gif
