Hey all
A friend, noticed that one of my frontosas have 6 bars on one side and 7 bars on the other.
Wondering if anybody has heard of this or know which bar it is.

Any help will be appreciated

It is either a hybrid between a 6 and 7 bar or it can sometimes happen if they were stripped early, for some reason they sometimes get deformities.
I stripped my female 7 bar early once (accidentally grabbed the wrong female) and I had some with missing eyes.

It just happens Dave.
According to Ad Konings, in the wild, fronosa often have irregular or bad barring.
We as breeders have always culled these as imperfects. Did you breed this one or buy it? And what did you buy it as?
Either way, IMO it's not a fish to breed from.

I bought it as a moba frontosa for $50 from a guy that ordered some fish over from Sydney.

DaveK the frontosa that you bought is not a true Moba because it has 6 and 7 stripes on one side or hybrid
Mobas are very purple and blue and have a zorro mask not a stripe
Im sorry for you that you have a hybrid not a true moba and if you plan on keeping it please dont breed it
