Just a general enquiry as to the availability of the above "shell dwellers" in WA - I am contemplating getting back into the hobby after a break of some 12 years and am looking to start off with some small tank cichlids.

Hey mate,

Welcome back to the hobby and great taste in fish.

The occies are fairly available with a few members here keeping the gold form and someone who came to a meeting a couple months ago saying she was breeding the blue form by the hundred.

The black occies or speciosus I haven't seen or heard of in Perth for a little while, nor the pearl/meleagris. Doesn't mean they aren't here but you're probably best placed to ask a sponsor lfs to bring them over for you next time they get a shipment from eastern states. If you do and they want a few more buyers then I'm sure there will be a few people on here keen

Hi Chris

Welcome back, we will have to catch up sometime. I just said to Ronda "do you remember CB?" she replied yeah the guy with the blockheads.

Cheers Terry

I sent some speciosus over to WA a while back.  Hopefully someone has got them going.
