You mean picking on me. ? Lol. Good times heh he

But what most people must realise, is that once the interest and hobby becomes to a very low level, it will be very hard to switch back on again,,,,,, It's already hard to get it back from the state it's in now.

Buccal,
You exaggerated a lot. Did you actually conduct surveys to figure out the trend or is just that you haven't been selling a lot. Not picking on you but wanted you to post the main real reasons along with your speculations based on your biased opinions.

Atleast, your mate does an excellent job of plagiarising plecoplanet but atleast all the information is still there and is accurate except for the DNA sequencing bit.

As we all know, the deadline was made for the new system to commence,, everything was pretty clear and properly documented.
There was then a uproar saying no one has had time to prepare.
So the deadline for commencement was pushed back to same date the following year.
They just weren't interested,,, I had a mutual relationship with my importer and he told me how everything was unfolding as it was happening (so no twisted stories if there was any to be).
For most of the time, the Germans weren't very responsive involving the touchy subject.
But always responsive to business

That's the point I'm making

From an outside perspective why would you put huge effort into complying with proposed regulations when that regulatory body looks uncertain. In German culture, you make a decision and then you implement it. There's no waiting around for a year to allow people to get comfortable and there's no making a rule alluding to deal with a certain problem but really trying to deal with another. The whole affair would have looked ridiculous to them. But now it's in they might feel more confident because they can tell what they are dealing with. Maybe I'm too optimistic but I hope it's a sign of them thinking that they'll work it out once it's all in place rather than not being interested at all - can't hurt to ask.

No one likes change but they will get use to it and adapt for the love of the money.

yeah, that's where Johnno mentioned the way it's been set, for possible future changes.
So it's not all set in stone,,, It's just that the hobby here was at its knees, the new import laws was the boot in the back of the head with our hands tied behind our backs to become finally face planted firmly in the ground.
It's just a typical outcome when a governing body governs something they have no respect, interest or understanding.
But as I've said in the past, it's the diversity that keeps things messy, and there's no enough funding for multiple constant approvals.

On the other hand, why can't oz just get hold of one knowledgable person and approve all protomelus types, all Nimbochromis types and all pseudotropheus types and so on and so on till the lot is all good,
The fish within these groups all share roughly same habits as far as being noxious or not.
Each little single type of fish they want to interrogate,,, just classify it in modules to make sweet.

oh dear we are going to have issues - you have just openly accused me of plagiarising from plecoplanet - your supposed to be a moderator and not a @#$%ing shiit stirrer - pull your head in before someone gets really annoyed......

Bostave - Up to your old tricks again mate? 'Picking on someone' and then saying but I'm not picking on you is a bit like saying 'no offence, but you have a face reminiscent of a horses behind!'. All I have seen you do in your 5 minutes on the PCS forum is be antagonistic, sarcastic and single out particular members who you seem to have a personal vendetta against. Long term members who have also done a lot for the hobby, who I am sure will be around long after everyone has forgotten your name chief. Pull your head in.

I don't want to speak for Mark/Buccal but I would think it would be highly unlikely that he has taken surveys, and to ask the question is down right ludicrous. What is he running a Perth fish census? When you breed a lot of fish and have been around a long time, it is fairly easy to draw fairly accurate assumptions based on your own anecdotal evidence without doing a 'formal survey'.

You are just like me. When I say that I am not picking on you and according to you I am, you say you are not defending buccal but you are actually doing the same. You seem to post more in defence of your mate. I just asked him to keep his opinions to the point and accurate.

You are just like me

After more than a decade on this forum, this is probably the single most offensive thing I have ever read.
