Thanks for putting the pics up - a few under rated fish there because most people see them as little silver things in a shop. Nice to see some mature ones being shown off :)

The tetraspilus is a cracker

How long have you had the P ornatus, do you have any females that you can breed with or fry?

Sadly, I lost the females when i was on vacation for 2 weeks last year.

I had them for almost 2 years.

Saw your post on Aquotix import order, good luck finding the ornatus.

They're nice fish, started colouring once they reach around 12cm. They're very docile, I've never seen my ornatus show any aggression towards other fish.

Earlier this week, I came home and found a nice surprise in my fish tank.

Both pleurospilus males, which are now 20cm long; created 2 sand bowers in the tank. they're very territorial and won't let other fishes come near the bower

This is the same behavior S pleurospilus in its natural habitat.

It's very difficult to get the perfect photos, they move too fast for my camera.

I bought 4 of the protomelas spilonotus tanzania from Robs aquarium last weekend. They're a really beautiful fish, so many of the cichlids are underrated when they're juveniles.
