The next meeting of the Perth Cichlid Society is on Tuesday, April the 7th.

We have a great night lined up this monthly meeting. This month's topic is Aquascaping. There will be a talk delivered by one of our resident 'aquascape guru's Rovik. There will be some great tips on starting out your very own aquascape at home.

 

There will be an announcement of an all-new PCS competition for Aquascaping - Tank JournalFeed your inner Iwugami and climb to the top of the Oyaishi Stone mountain and win great prizes.

 

Talking points will include:

* Selection of hardscape materials e.g. substrabtes, different types of rocks, wood etc.

* Aquascaping techniques (Both planted and non planted).

* Layout tips and handy tools.

* Also touch on reducing equipment in the aquarium to create a more natural setting.

In addition to which we also have:

  • Androo's tasty BBQ! Coffee and cool drinks also available
  • The PCS library, with with hundreds of books, DVD's and magazines available for loan to members
  • The cichlid and catfish PCS Show Table, where you can participate and/or view some of the prized fish of fellow members. Every entrant wins a prize!
  • Some cool PCS merchandise items up for sale!
  • Photo Comp winners announced.
  • The sponsors raffle table, where you can win some fantastic prizes!

All are welcome. Hope to see you there Tuesday, April 7th.

 

Doors open at 7:30pm and Meeting starts 8:00pm at the Rotary Hall, Sandgate St, South Perth

:)  Any PCS Members wishing to enter an ADULT cichlid or catfish (no juveniles or fry thanks) :) 

for the Show Table:

 

Please PM me no later than the evening before and let me know...

if you will be bringing your own tank to show him/her in

or you require PCS to provide one

(we only have a limited number unless you let me know beforehand).

Yep I agree, was a really enjoyable talk. Getting fired up to do an aquascape for the new comp now. Anyone know where I can get some aquascaping rocks for a good price?

Well I'm not exactly sure what your good price would be, but try Aquarium Gallery Perth, they have nice stuff

What rocks are you after Jason? I have some Toodyay Granite? Plenty for a smaller tank.
