Hi all,

Been a while lol. Caught up with a certain member not long ago and thought I'd start posting again.

Just thought I'd share some of the fish I'm currently keeping :)

These are some of the main guys in my SA display.

Hi Ronny

Not sure if you get to Perth much, but if you do, I really hope you could attend one of our monthly meetings. Your photography skills are unbelievable and we would love to hear any tips you are willing to share. Without offending other photographers on here, your photos are some of the best I have seen anywhere. I am very jealous

Mate if you think the photos are good, you should see them in the flesh ;)

Ronny it would be awesome if you shared your frontosa set up. It's very different to how most people keep frontys and envokes some very different behaviour.

Thanks guys :)

Not sure how old they are as they are wild caught. They were about the size of a 20c to 50c coin when I got them in November last year.  Now they're about palm size.

Can't offer any tips on breeding them as I haven't done it yet but there is a definite pair that has formed in there.  I think they are still too young to do anything but they are going through all the typical courtship/spawning behaviour.

I rarely get to Perth.  If I do it's normally for work but haven't been there for a few years now.

I'm happy to answer questions here if peole want to ask them :)

I'll post some videos this arvo when I get home from work :)

I can't remember, were the tricoti in there when you came over?

No but you did show me a video of the fry development. Can't say I watched too closely though as some topless girl kept coming over with a tray of samosas at the time....funny where you can end up after an attempted fish crawl in Sydney ;)

Hi, thanks. I have wild caught altums too. True altums. They are 25 cms tall and have began showing signs of breeding. I bought them on PCS this January and have on intensive feeding regime. They have grown significantly since I got them but I would like them to grow bit more before they breed.
Terry from PCS told me about you being close to breeding altums. Hence I asked you. Regards, Ameya

I bet a lot more fish crawls would happen if they all ended like that haha!

This happens after every water change. I have since taken the cone out as I don't want them to breed yet either.  I don't even know why I put it in, got a little excited I guess haha.

Now they just clean the drift wood but every time it looks like they are closer and closer to spawning.

Some of the other guys in the tank.

They're on probation lol. They can stay in there if they leave the discus alone.

Nice! What size are they?

They look a bit smaller than my ones and I think mine are too young to breed.
The body on my ones are about palm size.
