I'm shipping a ray to NSW Sunday morning and am looking for someone who maybe able to help me ship.

Everything's sorted etc, I just need to find some one with an oxygen tank to bag the fish properly (being a sensitive stingray pup I'm told its crucial to have oxygen in the shipping process).

Even if its in the form of oxygen used for welding (as long as not argon mixed) that'd be great, happy to arrange prior pick up Saturday and ill drop off Sunday morning, can pay cash or something.

Huge thanks to any helpers.

Jules

I have to drop the stingray at the airport for 730am (1.5 hour prior to departure - only flight times available). Sorry should of mentioned that in the first post.

Find a site plumber or boiler maker that carries an oxy set.

Only difference between industrial and medical grade oxygen is the tank colour and insurance.

If you aren't experienced with shipping fish then I suggest its worth getting the help of someone who is, particularly with larger and more valuable fish involved.  If you don't know someone personally, then a LFS is likely to be your best bet. Shipping fish isn't difficult providing you follow a few basic guidelines.

As sajica suggests, then bagging the night before may be an option, or delaying the shipment until the timing works better for you.

Also, make sure that you clearly discuss with the buyer who is responsible should something go wrong in the process.  It doesn't happen often, but if it does, then its much easier to deal with if all parties know exactly who is responsible losses.

Hope it all works out for you!

Shipped fish before. Just never with oxygen.

All sorted and fish sent.

Thanks.
