I was looking for a 6x2 stand , then i looked at a pile of treated pine and thought how lazy after seeing the rack rigger and the boys built i got to work , shes not finished yet it still need the bottom rack to go on but to my surprise it's already sturdy as and nice'n flat on top

cheers ,

BTW, I'll be whacking a few more extra screws in too

Thats a vast improvement to any of the other stands in your shed tongue.gif

I would add another piece to the outside of the current legs for the tank support piece to rest on, that way you arent relying on the screws to hold the weight.
IMO screws and nails should only be used to hold the timber in place, not for structural support.

Also I would add a length along the bottom of the legs to stop them spreading and collapsing. Yuo can never be too sure smile.gif

Looking good, how many more have you got to build now?!

Yeah there will be more lengthways down bottom (hence bottom rack) but I do like your idea of adding the extra timber to the outside of the legs , I'll get onto that

Just been procrastinating big time..!

U reckon it will hold ok in the middle with all the weight on it...?
I thought for a 6x2 u needed 6 legs..?
But i could be wrong..
Anyways good onya scotty.
Make sur u post up more pics with progress.

I'd put another leg in the middle Scotty just to be safe, timber tends to bow over time especially with that amount of weight on it. I'm a cabinet maker by the way and it's better to be safe than sorry cheers steve

Top job Scotty.... smile.gif I agree with the last point over time timber does bow, personally if I was going to a 6 foot I would put a centre leg but the way you've run your timber, and the size of it, I reckon you'll be ok smile.gif again, great job mate how good is DIY
