Hi everyone,

I am looking for a large plastic container, such at an IBC. It can be open like an aquaponics tank from tank master. any dimensions but at least 500mm deep.

Any ideas? I dont know where i could get a used/cheap IBC container but that would work..

Regards
Mambo

for the moment i want to raise trout and barra 6 months each, and alternate. then slowly expand.
problem is that i am a full time student, hence the cheap aspect!

Mattt has given me quite a few ideas - thanks mate. but i have a few months to find some good deals.

all help is appreciated!

heh - AP taking over PCS Ivan tongue.gif

mambo - IBC's really are the best bang-for-buck 1000L tank. There's two sizes I've seen, 1000 & 1100L. $100 as quoted by Mattt is a very good price (presuming they havent been full of nasty chemicals).

It's the obvious answer to using less water... no water changes... get to eat fish and salads... what could be better... Yummm smoked trout...

Yea Ivan, definitely veggies as well. probably about 4 square meters of raft system, and 4square meters (300mm deep) of gravel beds.

Ya IBCs are good in that respect. I have also used a steel frame before, with a tarpaulin layed inside. then again, the smaller of the pools from www.dealsdirect.com.au is $120 + 20 shiping, and it is 2320 litres...
