Angels are Americans??  But yeah I know they're not always compatible.  I tested it out when I sold a corner tank that housed angels and got away with it :)

I'll have more pics Redevilz for sure when lighting is installed.  At the moment it's running an underpowered LED set up.  Water still a tad cloudy too.

Yeah I'm pretty sure they like similar water conditions.  It's weird, the GT and the rest of the bigger cichlids (Texas and JD's) just ignore the angel but definitely fight amongst each other!  Guess I got lucky.

Are the jack dempseys electric blue? They kind of look like EBJDs in the pic.

I only dream they were!  Tried for a few years to breed EBJD's to no avail :(  Got plenty of nice regular JD's though.

Haha yeah, EBJDs are awesome! Yeah I have a breeding pair of JDs too... Thinking of selling them because they aren't getting along with my Green terrors too well.

Hard to keep alive definitely in my experience.  I thought I'd bought blue gene EBJD's at one stage and bred 2 different pairs of them together but got no EBJD fry so they obviously were not Blue Gene JD's.  I've also bought two separate lots of EBJD's at around 3.5 cm mark only to have them all die slowly over time for no apparent reason.  Biggest only getting to around 4.5-5 cm.  So I never had a chance to try and pair one with a regular JD :(

They appear to be bred much healthier in the US as many people have them on other forums over there.  Maybe one day someone will have the patience over here to keep persisting until successful.

The tank has pretty much cleared up.  I need new lighting but that's coming soon as I have ordered some Samsung Ultra Bright LED's to beef things up.

I'm reasonably happy with the look.  I'll try some real plants when the new lighting is installed.  Just a few fake plants in there at the moment.

What do you think?

Oh and I have an air stone in the tank at the moment in the back right corner which looks crap.  Is there a better way of doing this?  I feel air is needed as I like to fill my tank to the top and have lids to contain the sharks, therefore not much air between water line and glass lids.

I've finally got around to plumbing the drain through the wall.  It was a bit of an effort as it's gone through a double brick wall but makes things so much easier.  I bought the biggest masonry drill bit I could find from bunnings and my trusty Ozito hammer drill for the hole then I used a threaded brass pipe with threaded fittings and a large amount of thread tape to ensure it doesn't leak as it's pretty close to a power outlet (it is lower than the powerpoint though so no real issue).  Simply connect a hose to the fitting on outside of wall to drain and fill and Bob's your Aunty :) (Thanks for idea Rovik)

Also thought I'd chuck a pic up of my Angel and newest member of my tank, my little Oscar.  (Texas bit the dust for some reason?? Still not entirely sure why. He was only 6 years old)

Cheers Matty.  My new lights just arrived but missing a bloody joiner to the power supply so have to wait a bit longer.  Once I've got them set up I'll chuck up some more pics.

I'll have a 6 foot LED light with remote control dimmer/on/off switch for sale very soon.  Will chuck up in classifieds soon but if anyone wants it $60 and it's yours.  It has quite a few of the blue LED's that have died which is why price so cheap but all the whites are still working :)
