#339699 Cadbury Chocolate Bar With Vegemite

Hated it. But maybe that was because I was deceived by being handed a single piece of chocolate and not being told it was this.

#336183 Rainbowfish Pictures *d/l Warning*

Posted by kane29 on 08 March 2015 - 10:55 PM

Hey Jason,

On a day out with the girlfriend she could not get why I kept staring into the large croc exhibit at the zoo (considering the croc was not even in it as he was catching rays in his outside pool). The reason was those rainbows!!! Huge and awesome, easily the best enclosure at the zoo hahaha. I would love for this thread to be revived and for people to post their rainbow pictures as well as with the types they have. I got rid of my Australian rainbows about 6 - 8 months ago and now only keep New Guinea rainbows, but they are hard to come by. Would love to add different types to my collection of Bleheri, Boesemani, Kamaka, Lacustris and Praecox (Got rid of the Maccoullochi as I they were the Queensland variety).

Might try to chuck some pictures up here.

#336157 Wtb Siamese Algae Eaters

Or Vebas 4 for $20, they are small atm... which is exactly what you want! when they grow big they become quite a bit less attracted to algae and more so commercial feed.

#328773 Led Lighting Vs T5

Posted by kane29 on 06 October 2014 - 05:30 PM

I prefer T5's, but the expense of changing tubes each year is frustrating. You can get some pretty good LED's for cheap. Check out Up Aqua Pro U Series. Banggood.com sells them and have fantastic customer service. I run 5 of these. 4 footers are just over $140, 3 footers just under $120.

Looks amaze-balls! Where the heck did you get all those plants from?

Cheers!!

Which ones are you looking at?

Blyxa Japonica, Staurogyne Tropica, Ludwigia Inclinate Var...,  has come from members on here
Glossostigma Elatinoides originally came from Perth Display Centre, all of the glosso came from the previous tank. Pogostemon and Luwigia Arcuata also did.
Lilaeopsis Brasiliensis from Gosnells

Lets just say Staurogyne Sp. Purple and Rotala 'H'ra' came from a couple of cuttings that I managed to get my hands on.

This is why I started to collect plants and have them on offer, until Perth Aquarium and Display Centre gets their Quarantine up and running, or more so get the approval from the Government. I get so jealous of other States/Countries that have so many plants on offer to them.

Sunday 28th of September 2014 (Day15)

Glosso has made a lot of progress over the week. Ludwigia Inclinata has been the most impressive of the background plants. Pogostemon Stellatus and Ludwigia Arcuata have grown quite slowly. All the wood is slowing down on the amount of white mucus it is releasing, hopefully in a couple of weeks there will be no more of this.

And Finally with plants Saturday 13/09/2014 Day 1

One note, my righthand side bit of wood came buoyant during planting and is now being soaked to be ready to place back in the tank.

Attached File  First planted photo.jpg   111.28KB   9 downloads

It took so much effort in patience to finish this plant. I separated every glosso stem, so all that glosso are separate plants, this foreground will fill out in 2 weeks. It took me 4 hours to plant this out.... I don't know if I could ever do it again.

A few spots of lilaeopsis and in a week I will add some Eleocharis Belem to the foreground planted similarly. I want those two plants and the glosso to hopefully make a natural looking lawn.

The Blyxa is used as a filler and softness creater. I used Blyxa to group other plants and to soften the hardscape by covering and blending the rock and wood. I then opted for Staurogyne because of they are nice plants plus slow and lower growing.

The rest of the plants will appear in the 1 week photo when they have grown into view.

Hopefully my final bit of wood that became buoyant sinks soon and he will go back in place. Then I can add either Xmas Moss or Hydrocotyle Tripartita ‘Japan’ to the wood.
