A latex glove would do the trick.. 2ft is a good start but they'll breed in just about anything.

In my opinion anything from a 70-90 litre tank should be good for a single pair. This depends on the pair and if they have bred together before as well. If they have you may be able to put them in the smaller ~70l range, I have personally have done this with a pair. I started them off in an Aqua One Ar620 made them a pair then moved them. You just really have to watch the males as they can be really bullies in the between stages of fri, in which case you will need to remove the female.

after the Ar620 and they were paired I moved them to a blue planet... so the ingredients are for success;

-Good food (carnivore pellets work great)

-The pair

-A 2-3ft tank

-Shade or no light

-no other fish in the tank

-70-90l tank

from my experience, the best thing to do is buy a larger male and a smaller female... if the female is alot closer to the size of the male it seems they see them as more of a threat .... the best pairs ive ever seen were massive males with tiny females and just never showed aggression... only the smaller females showed agro towards males haha :)

Thanks Jackson, TCM and clownz!
