Arowanas are not a permitable import so a Quarantine approved premise or not, you cannot import them.

What if they're already in Australia Krystal? Is it possible then. Or you can't even ship into/out of state to state?

They are fine to ship interstate.

At 50cm it'd be a nightmare though. smile.gif

Of course they're already here, no one debated that. Fishking wanted to import them.....importing is bring something in from another country......it is against the law to do so with these particular fish. I wont even go into the essay on quarantine facilities rules and regulations. You cant just set up a quarantine room, bring in fish and on sell them.....if it were that easy why wouldn't we all be doing it? Your dealing with a Government department.....need I say more.

Sam, its a technicality.....they get moved from state to state with little or no issues all the time, but piss off the authorities and they have every right to confiscate the fish. They're not on the permitable import list, therefore they shouldn't be here so if you've got one its blatant that its been smuggled in. Now I'm not saying its going to happen but at the end of the day, they can.

The more fish that get smuggled in and 'promoted' on the forums then the harder it is for legitimate importers to bring in fish.

How old are you now king 16. That's 9 years away. Don't waste your money saving on something that may not even be around in 9 years.

Cheers Krystal.

I don't think I'll be taking the risk anytime soon.

They're a beautiful fish, but Im happy with my Jardini for now.

And as far as you Fishking. If your just about making money. Your probably on the wrong forum.

Take my advice.....buy a house! I starting building my house when I was 19, and Im glad I didn't invest my money in fish. I wouldn't put money in something you cant even legally do......why spend $20,000+ on a quarantine facility for Arowanas when you cant even import them? I really don't understand your logic.

Its a loss leader what your 'planning' on doing.....Theres a few people who have had the financial backing, had purpose built facilities for Quarantining fish and then had the application for the room rejected multiple times over ridiculous government rules and regulations.
