Attention all do it yourselfers , a quick announcement in the interests of safety .

We have recently had a couple of DIY topics involving modifications of 240 volt electrical aquarium equipment. The committee as a whole decided to remove these topics as we see this practice to be unsafe and therefore not advised. Not only should any work carried out on 240v electrical appliances be done by a qualified electrician , furthermore extra care should be taken with the use of electrical aquarium accessories as we all know , water and electricity don't mix .

We ask that all members and forum users refrain from posting any such modifications involving 240v products , these projects may incite someone inexperienced to give it a go and they could seriously injur themselves or somebody else through electricution sometimes even resulting in death.

Thankyou
