Longfin Eel Hand Feeding

Anyone know of good ways to start trying to get longfin eel to hand feel? its about 13cm, best food to feed? ive tried to feed frozen blood worms but soon as stick my hand in eel dashes under gravel

try using some bits of white bait with long tweezers at first and then shorten tweezers untill you use your fingers over a period of time

Agree with Johnno's advice. 

 

Also at 13cm your eel is just a glorified earthworm that you are trying to hand feed. Like all juvenile animals, it thinks everything is trying to eat it (hence the flight response under the substrate) - with some extra size and time will come more confidence.

As Johnno said. Just be patient, anything can be achieved over time. Took a long time but got to the point I could feed my Pangasius hypothalamus and sanitwongsie by hand and even pet my albino hypothalmus.
