Hi,

I have a little 35 liter tank at the office. I am looking at putting some sort of L number in. I have very little knowledge about these guys and not sure if this size tank will even be large enough for them.

Specs of the tank:

- 50x25x30

- Astro 2202 filter

- No heater but in the office so pretty stable

- LED light

Fish and plants:

- 6 Neon Tetras

- 1 Betta

- 50 odd MTW

- Crypts

- Java Fern

- Java Moss

Things I am looking for:

- Not too pricey

- Be able to clean a bit of the algae from the inside of the tank

- Maybe be able to get a pair and breed??

- Ensure that the tank isn't over stocked

Love to hear any recommendations!

Cheers!

most L numbers will eat all the plants before they eat the algae...might get away with a couple of bristlenose catties

Thanks for all the replies!

Yeah, I didn't think that there would be much more I could add. Aw well, have to clean the algae myself ;)

I would love a bigger tank, but this one is on my office desk and space is limited.

I do about a 50% water change a week

A couple of ottos shouldn't add too much extra to the bio-load? or would it?

I have a tank about the same size with a betta, a few tetras, plants, and 2 Oto's. Just running a little spongy in it and everything is good:)

You misread the content. People's recommendations were that if he did indeed want to keep an L-number (or possibly even breed) - he would likely need a bigger tank.

The the answer to the members question would be No,

Q: What L Number would suit a 35 ltr tank?

A: Get a bigger tank!

My English isn't perfect but that response to the question makes no sence.

I think a better answer would be.

A 35 ltr tank is probably too small to keep an L number.

And the way I read it he wanted recommendations in line with the provided tank information
