So I've got 3 weeks till I have surgery on my wrist again so I've been making the most of the time I've had, saying that it's been a struggle getting this one together coz jarrah is bloody heavy! Anyway I'm sitting on the couch now suffering for my need to get my DIY on but happy to have a new stand to add to the fish room, this bad boy will house 2x 4x2x2's plumbed together to create an 850lt system smile.gif

The stand itself stands just over a metre high, with tanks on it will be 1.7m tall smile.gif

3 way joint action! The stand will be supporting just over a tonne of weight so the joints are all interlocking to transfer the weight to legs for maximum strength smile.gif

Cheers for looking smile.gif

Riggers some free advice since your a hawker. The bottom i'd put to little blocks in the middle front and back for support (little legs) and the top i'd put a nice thick top on 30 or 40 mm. I know it's jarrah and the build looks nice and solid, job welldone.gif but timber is timber and over time it will want to bow. So now's the time to put in that extra support. cheers.gif Steve and goodjob.gif so far.

Nice work Riggers!
Are you sure thats jarrah mate?
Just looks a little light in colour with different grain thats all, if its ex roofing timber and 100 years old it could well be black-butt,
Thats what the colour in your pics would suggest. Black-butt is just as strong and probably heavier than jarrah.

Both tanks are on, Steve suggested a nice thick board for under the top tank and replacing the slotted rail for a solid one so that's exactly what I did smile.gif bottom tank has Malawis and top tank is holding a Saratoga and some scats smile.gif
