Hey guys, this is my setup for my Betta breeding project. I bought a breeding pair of dumbo eared betta's from FishChick, after 12 days they spawned for the first time, then that batch got eaten buy the male. 2nd time happened 9 days later than last spawn, same thing male ate the eggs. Third I got all the eggs at the end of the spawn and put them in this : 43a32b53bdabf119808555f428995507_zps643d
all the eggs got fungus and died :(
Then 4th time happened randomly 4 days since the last spawn, within 4 hours of having the female in the males tank in a bottle, even though they see each other all the time through the divider she filled with eggs and I spawned them, again left the male with the eggs, he ate them. So I was given an awesome offer of borrowing Tunagirll's boy "Fabio" a stunning Halfmoon dumbo salamander Betta who has already been a father and was excellent :)

Here is pics of my setup:

The Betta's are in a styrofoam box due to limited temprature fluctuations which betta fry are sensitive to and the humidity helps prevent the male betta's bubblenest from popping, also in the first couple weeks when the fry go to get there first gulp of air once they have developed their labyrinth organ if the air is cold they can get pneumonia.

Yeah, thanks. He is caring for the eggs and has moved them around and builds his nest, the poor guy tries to get some sleep as he'll go sit in the corner and lay there but the light makes it hard for him to. There is quite a lot of eggs, I'm guessing around 200, as they were spawning they were sometimes struggling to get the embrace right, but they persisted and in the end they finished. Also in the first hour of spawning, after every embrace the girl would go down get the eggs, come up get some air and spit them in the nest, so she was pretty cooperative :)
