Tropheus $$$$ bargain - *SOLD!!!*

I have reluctantly decided to off load my beloved tropheus colonies; my computer recently died and I need to raise much needed funds to purchase a new one to complete my PhD studies.
This brings me great sadness, as I love my fish and consequently, they are in the best possible condition: bright, colourful, and in the case of the bembas and maswas, breeding. Through my perseverance, I have been fortunate enough to get ten fry out of them in the last half of 2003. Courting continues unabated!
My collonies consist of:
8 Tropheus sp red "moliro red" (all > 18 months)
8 Tropheus species black "bemba orange" (4 juv, 4 adults)
approx 16 Tropheus duboisi "maswa" (10 adult, 6 juv)
I have been offered $280 for the moliro (all approaching adulthood).
However, I am yet to advertise the other two colonies.
If someone could offer me $1000 for the entire colony (all three varieties) I would be very happy.
Otherwise I am happy to negotiate part colony sales. Please don't insult me with lame and ridiculous offers. These are all beautiful fish in fantastic condition.
Regards,
a very sad tropheus lover. Edited by: Dr Cucumber at: 1/27/04 3:09 pm

Can you tell me a little more about the source of your Maswa with some idea of size, Group temperament, etc...are the younger ones the fry your group has produced? I might be able to take the little ones of your hands as a seperate sale. Would like to know about their blood tho as I have some that are locally sourced and would be better to get something different again.

Nevertheless, they are all nice fish, particularly, the breeding adults from Vebas; nice blue head colouration and vibrant yellow stripe when courting. I have bright lighting in my tank and consequently the entire colony grazes all day. Therefore, they are some of the better specimens I have seen. The Moliro have developed the characteristic 'big lips' that specialised grazers develop. As you know, Tropheus are difficult to catch when the tank is fully rocked out. Thus my determination to sell as an entire colony, rather than catching out individual fish - however, will think about it if need be.

But yeah, keep me in mind and I will do the same.

If you would like the entire Mazwa colony - 16 in total - make me an offer. I am really looking to offload these guys very cheaply.
I'll check in again in a few days when I am back at work.
cheers,
Dr. Cuc..

Dr Cucumber, I am interested in the Maswa to add to our already existing colony. I am sure a few people on here can attest to the fact they will be well looked after. This is a sale once you send me your details.
You can have a look at our T colonies in the photo gallery.
Will make my final offer for $300!
And thats for all of the Maswa, not just the adults.

If I posted an offer for some fish on this forum and someone else, who was not even involved or offering/buying the fish, stuck their face in...it would take a long time & some big deeds to convince me that I had not been "Slighted". And I would take it very personally.
Glad to see a Mod here in time to save this from becoming a 3 day ordeal.

Thanks for the interest. I have made a note of a few of your names and will check in again in a few days. At this stage I have had a little bit of luck with the computer; A new one may be comming my way for very little $$$. In fact, I may only need to sell the Moliro, for which I have already recieved an offer from a friend. So at this point, can I thank you all for your enthusiasm. I hope I havent ruined the integrity of what is a very worthy web site. Please check out my thread on altrnative filtration techniques in general discussion - at least I can offer some information to the site....
Regards,
Dr Cuc...

i suppose u need a computer but geez givin up ur pets ta fund it has to hurt like u wood not believe , i dont think anyone wood have a problem with ur good luck and that u wood withdraw ur sale , as ,like all of us , we wood all do the same , i suppose i just wanna say one thing about advertising fish on this forum, i wood much preffer a ban on offers being veiwed by the public and all negotiations being made privately , as wen i was selling my peppermint b/n , the comments and offers were quite annoying and off putting , my adults were sold , for the asking price , but after recieving offers that were very short of wat i was after i didnt look at the forum for weeks , so moderators lets get a handle on this , as there is nothing worst than someone tryin to steal a much beloved fish of u , coz they think u need a buck
just my 2 cents worth
