Has anyone seen any Lichnochromis acuticeps around lately?
There was a few around a couple of years back but seem to have disappeared.

Be a real shame if these have disappeared from the hobby.

How large would you need your tank to be for maybe 4 of these?

6x2x2 at least I am assuming?

Depends who you ask. I'd say a 6x2 would be plenty.

I moved this one here az. Wasn't sure if you were wtb or just starting discussion?

They don't get huge like some of the other Malawi predators but a 6x2x2 would be a good size. I know werdna sold his off but dougo had them breeding a few years ago. Also sorroz nswcs committee member was breeding them. That's where I sourced them for werdna. Might be too long ago but could be worth following up

Ok thanks. I have a spare 4x18x18 but that would be insufficient now that I have read how large they get.

only a few left over here and none are doing anything

the guy that was breeding the ones you got Spilo has lost his males

and only has a couple of females left other than that I think there are only

a couple of others with them still

These guys were my pride an joy, I had 12 originally and ended up with 2m 3f in a 6x2x2

When they were breeding no one wanted them. It took me over a month to sell the breeding colony

What a real shame to see these gone, I was asking for myself and for a mate over east.
I did keep a few but moved them on a few years back. Spectacular species well worth keeping. 6x2x2 is plenty ;)
If I hear of any, I'll grab some for sure.

Getting there Micheal :)

Someone in SA has a colony.  Not breeding yet but the males are starting to colour up.

I have a young colony here in SA.  They bred for the first time a couple of weeks ago but the female didn't hold.  My lot are male heavy.  I'd be EXTREMELY interested in getting hold of additional females.  Link2Hell, if the person you mentioned of would consider parting with his I'd dearly like to talk to him.

Cheers  Kathy

Rastinger might be interested in some males from you Kathy. He is in Brisvegas but Im sure he would organise to get them sent if you wanted to sell.

Sorry, but I won't part with any males.  I suspect these fish have fertility problems, which is the reason some people have been able to get them to spawn but have not raised fry.  We have so few of them in Australia, I'd prefer to keep these fish together at least until we understand what we have.

Any updates of any of these fish around?

I might sell lots of my Americans to free up space if some juvies came up for sale...
