The next meeting of the Perth Cichlid Society will be an Auction night on Tuesday, August 2nd.

We are now taking bookings for lots. Please PM your lots to Mattia ASAP on PCS Forum.

The auction will be held at our new venue Atwell College, 201 Brenchley Drive, Atwell 6164. We will be opening doors early to get lots booked in. There will be a brief Annual General Meeting starting at 8:00pm before the auction. Please park your cars in the car park marked, do not enter the school gates.

  • This month will be our Annual General Meeting. This will be short and commence at 8:00pm before the auction starts. A recap of this years achievements and committee selection.

  • We will have another Fish of the Month. This month's FoTM is THORYCHTIS MEEKI - Firemouth cichlid, kindly donated by one of our PCS Life Members - Terry. We will have a bag of fish to discuss and auction off, with proceeds to Stuart grant Fund for Cichlid Preservation. Learn about the fish and then take some home.

  • There will be an update on the clubs progress with Stuart Grant Fund for Cichlid Preservation. We have a "NEW" book for grab, it's the last version of the "Tanganyika cichlids in their natural habitat", signed by Ad Konings that you can bid to own. Your donations and involvement is helping this great cause preserve the fish in our hobby and the wonderful rift lakes. Mattia has returned directly from Lake Malawi with Ad Konings.

  • July 2016 Photo Comp winners will be announced and prizes handed out for our lucky winners from our PCS sponsors - Aqua-Pics & Pet Magic

  • Grab some raffle tickets for our Sponsor prize table full of awesome aquarium hobby items. Two major prizes and a 3rd prize bag to win!! Don't forget 20% of raffle goes towards the Cichlid Preservation Fund.

  • In the PCS Kitchen we will have delicious food for you to buy. We will also have hot and cold drinks. Don't forget 20% of kitchen purchases goes towards the Cichlid Preservation Fund.

Please note -

  • There will be no PCS Library or PCS Show Table this meeting.
  • You can pay cash or we can accept MasterCard, VISA Debit, VISA Credit and PayPal.
  • All lots must be pre-booked, with no exceptions. See this guide before you book in - HERE.
  • General public are welcome to attend, so please bring your friends along.
  • The doors will open just on 7:10pm to start processing lots. Lot viewing will start at 7:45pm.
  • There will be a brief AGM from 8:00pm and the auction will start at 8:15pm.
  • No lots will be accepted into the auction after 7:40pm.

You will have a short period in which to view the lots commencing at 7:45pm. View the lots carefully before bidding as once you win, you own it. The lot area will sectioned off and we ask that everyone remain behind the sectioned off area at all times, with the exception of the viewing period. Lots will only be dispersed at the end of the auction. This means you will need to remain until the end and be patient to collect your winning lots. The lots will be collected by PCS Committee members for you. Nobody is permitted to collect their own lots.

The PCS Raffle will feature great items and as major prizes -

1st & 2nd prizes - winners choice.

sera1.jpg Sera%202.jpg rsz_robs.jpg

Huge 2kg tubs of Sera Vipan or Goldy from Rob's Aquarium.

Sera - Vipan is the universal staple food consisting of carefully manufactured flakes for all fish, especially for those that eat at the water surface. The carefully selected ingredients with pre-biotic effect enhance health and liveliness. Since the tasty and shape retaining flakes float for a long time they are eaten entirely and do not pollute the water. The balanced, wholesome composition ensures nutrition close to nature and supports healthy development, splendid appearance and natural behavior.

3rd prize -

Seachem%20Logo.png

Prize pack from our sponsors Seachem.

A prize pack of assorted goods from our sponsors Seachem. Including food, chemicals, kits and other items needed for excellent aquarium maintenance.

The auction will be capped at *150 lots at the discretion of the PCS committee. In the interests of fairness, variety and smooth running, sellers may be asked to modify their lots at the organisers' discretion.

Hello everyone!

This coming auction we have a "NEW" book for grab, it's the last version of the "Tanganyika cichlids in their natural habitat", signed by Ad Konings :)

This book is what I like to call BIBLE for any Tanganyikan cichlid hobbyist , come and bid hard on it... of course everything we get will be donated to the Stuart Grant Cichlid conservation fund!!!!

Last auction we raised over $800 in one night for the fund, which is an incredible amount for a 50 people auction! That was thanks to all you kind donations and hard bids, so please let's try to match and, why not, beat that amount!!

Also, please don't wait until last minute to send me your lots.. the previous auction I had to turn away some lots because we had too many. Don't miss your chance !!

Lot list updated!!!

If you have already sent me a PM, then your lots should be in.

Please let me know if I forgot any of your lots!

Cheers

Lot list updated and (almost) closed, two weeks early!!!

We have 150 lots, but I can squeeze a few more in and delete a couple of things....

It just needs to be worth it, so please don't message me saying that you have common shrimps/plants/bristlenoses/guppies .... I'm only accepting these if they are a donation to the SGCF.

Feel free to PM me with what you have, if you have anything rare/not common and I can see if I can squeeze it in.

There's a bag of 4x Xenotilapia Nigrolabiata "Red Princess" 6-7cm 1m/3f ......... that could be brought to the auction, but only if there's a bit of interest on it.

If anyone wants to know more, shoot me a PM as I have more info about it, but the seller wants to stay anonymous.

We have been finishing at a pretty good time since August last year. <br />Usually the last lot is called around 10.30pm, and at the last 2 auctions committee left around 11/11.15pm after all the clean up - yes, committee are there cleaning up the mess after every auction ;)

Yep, no more really late nights anymore. We cap the lot numbers and have a good system going to make sure we are as organised as possible and starting on time.

It's a new venue as well so committee have taken time out to scope the premises and work out how we will set up ahead of time. No more crappy after midnight finishes in a weeknight ;)

Booking is closed!

We have 151 lots, a pretty good mix in my opinion between Cichlids, plants, shrimps, guppies and catfish.

If you are bringing lots in, just a reminder that we are not accepting lots after 7.45pm. Not because we are mean committee people, but just because we want to run the meeting smoothly and have everything ready and well run for all the people there.

Before the auction there will be the AGM, where our club president Rovik will have a quick speech on what has happened this past year for the Perth cichlid society. If you are a club member or just like the club, it's a one-time-per-year-event that you should not miss.

Please don't forget that we will be holding the auction at our new venue, Atwell college (201 Brenchley Drive, Atwell 6164.)

Food and drinks will be available, so come in hungry and thirsty to support your favorite club ;)

See you all there!

Guys just a reminder that the meeting tomorrow is at a different venue to usual and that if you're entering lots for auction, you need to do so before 7:45 or they will be scratched.

We will be strict on this because otherwise it makes it a long night
