The next meeting of the Perth Cichlid Society will be an Auction night on Tuesday, May 3rd.

We are now taking bookings for lots. Please PM your lots to Mattia ASAP on PCS Forum.

The auction will be held at the South Perth Rotary Hall in Sandgate Street. We will be opening doors early to get lots booked in.

You will have a short period in which to view the lots commencing at 7:45pm. View the lots carefully before bidding as once you win, you own it. The lot area will sectioned off and we ask that everyone remain behind the sectioned off area at all times, with the exception of the viewing period. Lots will only be dispersed at the end of the auction. This means you will need to remain until the end and be patient to collect your winning lots. The lots will be collected by PCS Committee members for you. Nobody is permitted to collect their own lots.

General public are welcome to attend, so please bring your friends along. The doors will open just on 7:10pm to start processing lots. Lot viewing will start at 7:45pm and the auction will start at 8:00pm. No lots will be accepted into the auction after 7:40pm.

Here we go everyone, first lots are in the list!!!

I think I've included all the PM's so far, if I've missed your lots please let me know :)

Keep sending me PM's! :)

Thanks to everyone who has put lots in for the Stuart Grant Cichlid fund. Please, if you have something that you will never use, or that you don't want anymore, even a piece of airline, or if you feel generous, send me a PM with Donation lots. Anything to raise money for the fund will be greatly appreciated. There are some pretty exciting news about it, so don't miss the auction night if you want to know more! :D

LAST book "Celebrating Cichlids" written and autographed by Ad Konings will be auctioned off!

I was considering going to this auction but the non cichlid items would make it a very dull night. The PCS auctions used to be a good place to buy quality fish, now it's guppies and bristlenose.

I love the complaints. If people dont offer cichlids for sale then we cant list them?

Cichlids aren't the be all and end all and if we listed cichlids only then nobody would come to auctions. If you come to auctions you will see Guppy's and plants are being fought over, cichlids sadly are give away.

The point to the auction night is for fun, getting fish people together socially and to raise funds for SGF and club.

There are several cichlids this auction so far, some that havent been around for a while. Quite frankly i usually buy SGF lots and plants.

Maybe put in some cichlid lots and stop publicly complaining all the time.

I have considered attending the last couple of auctions but I find most of the lists uninteresting with only a couple of items worth bidding on.The last auction that I went too was Nov 2014 it was a long night with a few IMO decent lots, since then each time I look at the list there is nothing there that interests me, I could enter lots to make a few $ but I don't want to attend just to make money, I wan't to come home with something that makes the long night worth while. I have no complaints about the social aspects of the evenings.

If everyone thought like you no one would enter lots at all and there would be no auction btw I don't know why you needed complain about something that people go to great lengths to organise you you should be thankful there actually is an auction whether or not it's something that interests you or not

Anymore donation lots would be very welcome, including all the excess equipment you have lying around. You do not need to be a regular seller to donate. These lots always attract plenty of interest and the purpose aligns well with our club mission.

Just think how good you will feel the next time you look at your aquarium and tell your cichlids that you are helping to save their family.

Yes, we all know you talk to your fish.....
