This bloke is a director for a firm in the industry I work in, a colleague of mine knows the owner, a lot of money/time and effort gone into this.

And IMO - I think its ridiculous, for me an XB Coupe in its original form (maybe lowered with bigger boots and a tough motor or done as a GT replica) is far better then an overtop thing like this. Don't get me wrong, its a nice car with a lot of man hours and creativity gone into it, but  XA-B-C Coupes are like hens teeth!!

Plus youd be scared to drive it on the road..... Give me my XT anyday!!!

None the less - Ford power!!

I'm with you Jules and lose interest in cars when they get all the mods. But each to their own. That thing will still turn some heads. Speaking of originals - my recent barn find below. Have always wanted one of these and when this came up in my colour I couldn't say no. But of work to do on the body and interior but runs as good as it did 50 years ago with the original slant.

Between this and the XC Im struggling to maintain the fish budget :(

sorry toranas just dont it - like little boys cars......

i can appreciate they have been restored and done up nicely....

its like big hardtop coupes are tigers , lions , cougers and the like...

and along comes a torana , house hold cat.......

to me they dont even compete on the same level....

its like a torana is a toy car... and then theres big hardtops like ford coupes , hk,t,g munroes , two door chryslers.... not too mention ford landau as well :)

owned /driven lots of muscle cars over the years and the worst handling cars at high speed are toranas... scare the crap out of most people if you can find one that does over 180k's the front end becomes pretty unresponsive and the car floats and you feel like your losing control of the car.... and the hugely inaccurate speedos in a lot of early holdens is a joke...  good mate had a torana and said he does 220k's down roe hwy (early hours of a sunday morning) and reckoned it flies.... one day i followed him a pontiac firebird i had.... pulled level with him for a bit and speedo was ticking over at 95mph (152k's)... flicked on second electric fuel pump and nailed it to around 140mph approx and left him for dead.... when we caught up at 24hr deli on greenmount he was like holy crap your car must be doing 300km/h...... i sadly told him not even close - your speedo is out by about 50-60k's...... big reality check for him :)  even seen some later hj and hx's suffering same problem....

but that aside i do appreciate the hard work some people put into toranas and they look pretty good for what they are :)
