What are peoples thoughts on inline heaters any good better or exactly the same as internal heaters?

I use them on tanks and i highly rate them.
havent missed a beat and since i used them by power bill has come down.

constant heat always .. they are very good ...havent had one fail yet.. i have have used Ehiem in the past and they failed on me... But thats what happened to me ,

They are good and make the tank look a bit neater as well as make it easier to adjust the temp. I have had two fail but I also have two that have been going for years without issues. All are the Hydor brand.
I don't think they would affect power usage much as you still need to heat the same amount of water - in fact I would actually think they would use more power as they do not sit submerged so there is heat loss via the plastic housing. Negligible though I reckon.
