Hi guys,
. A little background story to start, I live in remote WA and have dreamt of a large SA set up for a good 5+ years, due to many reasons been putting it off.
Well not any more, finally pulled the pin on a 6x2x2 black silicone from aqotix in Perth, and got a removalist to transport it some 1500km north. Needless to say I was stressing until it arrived safe and sound. In the mean time I set to building (part of) my stand and collecting some decor and organising some equipment. I will try and update this thread as the tank progress happens. For now il add some photos, the best part hope you enjoy ab3af19268ebf5b82a195ccd268f2738.jpgb8f9936f2882e8cee346410bed58ba63.jpgd039b43ae9cccc32652f02552988cb25.jpge195e2191ff3d9b613c8d0d6c81b4ce4.jpgcde02a7913855e84bff6b4c596031677.jpgd9c42224f16fbc36e8db9028b0e6dcc4.jpg

OK guys, a little update on the build. I have purchased an eheim 2260 and waiting for it to arrive. As for the sand I went to local pool shop and they don't have any plain silica sand so I'm not sure what I'm going to do about that yet.
My RO unit turned up as well so have been getting that set up and slowly filling the tank to leak test it.
Have also continued on with the stand and hood, working out sizes and door placement ect. The lights I have are reasonably heavy so iv built the hood to hold them.
Still left to finish glueing up the doors and fixing all the timber to the cabinet and hood635f577ba15684e3f2155323c0376d2e.jpg39501cabde254800855a4752ccf49798.jpg99dc613ed0127dbe603d0a262046e92c.jpge49eaf7203ddaf7e370ff4037cc45fa7.jpg0c8aa5bb0eba2dbef0e9d4cd6d210264.jpgaa92c0def668bb049ef73f4946086839.jpg301fd75649ea485828f70dd5edbedc7d.jpg30f89b280b5d9da065324fb2b8668ca5.jpgaee6c107e6e40c82cdc6c1ce6ac3b23a.jpgfe043dfc1b792bcce22527da5b2a4aa0.jpg5702c8556d816e7212946a32e533ae2c.jpgd808e1ce8821de2bcb319c46d0f45459.jpgb251b0b84f1caffe219d98036d1c5f42.jpg7d038b60af2287c4ead959bc5108a417.jpga66ece52f81088918f53464a253ad449.jpg

Another update..
Been pretty busy trying to get this thing finished, finished fixing all the cabinet together, doors aligned cabinet lined and hinged. Still to get some struts of some sort to help with the lid. In hindsight I should have made the lid in two instead of one as it has abit of weight to it. I have sealed all the timber. Oh also fitted lights into the hood, with a door on the side of the hood to access the controls on the light. Also found some PFS and have washed and placed in the tank. Ah man lots done and still lots to do. Oh also got a couple 220lt drums for the RO just need to get a pump to make the water changes easier. Il stop rambling and add some pics

Thanks guys, down to the business end now. Just left to fill the filter with media and sort out the hoses coming over the edge of the tank, as they don't sit against the glass properly. Tidy up the cabinet from all the cables and,... In goes the fish
Oh and some plants ✌️

OK guys, not much left to do now, finally finished the cabinet and hood. Got the lights programed and most of the bits in the cabinet tided up. Found some satanoperca and got them delivered on Wednesday, they are currently in a qt tank which has been up for about 4weeks or so now, until the big tank is fully set up. Also got a few plants from Aquotix as well. But unfortunately everything is waiting on the filter media which seems to be taking forever to arrive.

The little guys have really settled down in the qt tank and seem quite comfortable even noticing abit of lip hierarchy starting to form already, they are getting fed about 3 times a day at the moment and eagerly take everything I have put in so far Attached File  DSC_2007.JPG   63.88KB   20 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2009.JPG   64.69KB   20 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2029.JPG   51.19KB   20 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2039.JPG   29.86KB   18 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2042.JPG   37.81KB   18 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2046.JPG   31.56KB   19 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2047.JPG   42.45KB   18 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2055.JPG   67.14KB   18 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2056.JPG   54.27KB   18 downloadsAttached File  DSC_2064.JPG   42.6KB   18 downloads

I ended up getting a couple l397 plecos to add to this set up which arrived a few days ago along with the filter media, so I have filled the filter with a layer of foam then ceramic rings then foam the rings then foam.
So we finally got to set up the main tank and added the plants and fish yesterday afternoon and they seem to love it.
The tank is still clearing up, when it does I will get some decent pics with the camera instead of my phone. Attached File  DSC_2073.JPG   58.9KB   17 downloads

Cant seem to upload any pics at the moment will do at a later date

Did you just put new media onto the filter? Just be careful as your tank needs to cycle before adding all your fish
