The big guy had smashed up the female a bit this morning. Nothing too serious, just some torn fins and such, but still signs that she might struggle if I left it. So I shifted them from their 4ft to my 'excess cichlid' 4ft. It has a couple of big red emp females, couple of yellows, extra demasoni etc etc. Plus threw the remaining congos and sword tails over too. So now it's a bit of a mixed community tank now. Not super ideal but seems to have done the trick for now. I'll keep an eye on it and keep you guys posted. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

They're just settling into their new mixed community 4ft. Settling in well. Once the female's fins are 100% healed etc. I'll try to grab some pics for you. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Few quick ones of the festae this arvo for those that asked. Not very good, but gives you an idea of the young pair. _IGP2485.jpg_IGP2486.jpg_IGP2487.jpg_IGP2488.jpg_IGP2489.jpg_IGP2494.jpg_IGP2500.jpg_IGP2501.jpg_IGP2503.jpg

I think my dithers ate the fry today. No stress. Might just cut back on them a bit now the pair is bonded for their next spawn. Still good effort from the youngens for their first try.

Wow! Beautiful pair. I would like to keep these guys one day. I think I still need more experience with agro fish first though.

IME keep big agro fish pairs on their own im very large tank, aggression will reduce. like that with the festae and same with umbees.

watch out for the psychotic snap though
