Hello, your local classified nazi here....
STOP COMMENTING ON CLASSIFIEDS. Reminding everyone to please pm the seller rather than breaking the t&c's of this forum by commenting even if you are hilarious.
Cheers ppl
And if your comment disappears. It was most likely me

You just did :-)

What's a nazy?

A sleepy nazi ?

I was looking at it and thinking thats not right. But shep this is in relation to commenting on adverts. You two both know better. Especially you Jason

i moderate on another forum - and sometimes you have to let things flex a little bit especially when classifieds are quiet and comment doesnt offend anyone and is harmless... and yes if its funny it can actually help and draw some attention to the classified add itself.... :)  moderating is like a policeman.... you find the older they are the better they are :)

Sometimes the info in the classified posts is decent info that helps people locate specific species. For example theres a wtb post just now about Ps. polit. I'd love to know if there's a local breeder or other places that regularly have them, but to know if there were any replies to the ad (which would be PMs directly to the OP), i'd have to PM him myself and then he'd have to remember to PM me back after he has heard from people or if he found some or I'd have to follow him up again later on and everyone else that is after the same info would have to do the same. It would be easier and better for the hobby and community if that info was just all in comments on that post.
Is there a way we could change the format of just the classifieds section of the forum so that comments don't actually bump the ad, and then give the OP a "bump" button that they can use after the 4 days?

I agree with snakebite if someone is chasing something specific would benefit everyone if we knew who has what

Mods have usually had a sensible approach to classifieds (its not like any of this is new and its for a reason). There has never been a problem with useful replies. The issue is with ongoing discussion and banter. Start another thread in the proper subforum.

Hi guys,

Found this topic that also discusses the comments in Classifieds: http://www.perthcich...showtopic=52024

Werdna makes an excellent comment of what could be 'acceptable' in the classifieds on Page 2 of the topic. This was going back a few years, so things might have been changed.

The terms and conditions have not changed but its up to yhe discretion of the moderator as long as they themselves arent breaking terms. But when there is a sudden influx of comments a reminder is needed. Pm where applicable. Dont fill up the recent section with old ads by asking if still available. Pm the seller and if he/she wishes to bump their advert (atleast 4 days since last bump) then the seller can do so
