That is pretty cool!! What size tank are they in? And how many have you got?

Just the 2... The tank is around about 200l

got one myself the other day..... rocket gar or freshwater barracuda....

 

mines loves smashing small guppies atm

Yeah I started with the guppies just to fatten them up at the start. It wasn't too hard to get them onto dead foods though. I weaned them onto blood worm first, live crickets next then wiggled tiny strips of prawn from a fishing line. Now they smash it as soon as it touches the water.
Pretty cool fish I reckon...

MAN, I want some, nice pick up guys, be great to see a few more around, even years back they didn't come up all to often. gorgeous fish.....

going to have to get myself 2.

Great pick up. They look great when they get some size, do really well in small groups. Be careful in small tanks as they have a nasty habit of breaking their beaks.

Yeah I have heard that, I'll have to take care for sure.... Although at the moment they don't seem too skittish at all and eat off the tip of my finger so hopefully they don't change as they get bigger.

small tank maybe better - at least they dont build up to warp speed before hitting the glass :) 

 

my guy is super chilled atm...... just cruises about drifting with the current till tiny guppy passes its path - then smacko.....
