hey guys.

my new tank has a nice piece of driftwood I want to attach heaps of java fern to in hope it will grow and flourish giving a real natural look to the tank.

only problem is, high water flow, and big fish which are consistently uprooting it from the little grooves I wedge it in.

I have tried the fishing line trick and im still struggling. im opting tacking pins to fin the base of the root to the wood or is there some kind of plant clip that you can nail into the wood?

Black nylon thread, tie it at one end then wrap it around the entire length of the root base then tie off at the opposite end. Be generous with the thread as you will hardly see it against the dark brown drift wood.

If possible tie it with fishing line but let the plants establish themself in another tank with a lower flow rate and plant friendly fish

once the rhizome gets hold of the wood it should be safe to put in the other tank

I use gel based super glue, it cures in water and works within seconds :)

Its a huge bit of driftwood and just fits in my big tnak so cant really separate it out.

ill just try again with the fishing line and use a greater length I guess.
