Thanks! Yeah - happier with it and plants definitely looking better a month after shifting. Tempted to move the left driftwood piece so the cut mark isn’t so visible but looks a bit wedged in / guess java fern will grow over it.

Ok, so possibly got carried away on the pot. Pretty much saw pot and decided it was too good to pass up. Plant roots were showing this morning so need to replant on weekend but fingers crossed. The ADA power sand at base, a heap of ferts tabs from aqua green and the aqua soil pellets on top.

Pot is pretty popular - so far leaving the plant alone. Maybe I should put the other in as a decoy on other side.

On the other hand, I think one of the heaters really has gone this time. Do have a spare somewhere (unless I chucked it shifting house..).

Lasted about 6years - not sure if that is about normal?

6 years for a heater is good. Do you want some Anubias coffeefolia?

Sounds like time to retire it :)

Would be great to grab some (maybe at a meeting?) sometime.

The potted plant has survived over weekend - hopefully gets some new growth soon and gets going.

The ph drop from CO2 injection is getting a bit dismal. I think I’ll go back to increasing the time injected before lights come on (plus a few other checks).

New plant lost a leaf grr. The catfish are finding it to be a great resting spot on top of the pot.

Sigh. Was digging out something around the TV and one of the ottos jumped out. Must of pushed past the little plastic sleeve I have around pipework. Caught and put back in but idk, 6ft drop onto tiles.

Nitrates 5 to 10ppm. Pretty low.

Phosphate 1 to 2ppm.

Potted plant is half floating again and yet to do anything. Think I’ll be looking for something else or pull pot out and keep it simple.

:)

Good news and bad news.

Good news was I replanted plant and noticed two small leaves - so finally some growth.

Bad news was the roots have been ripped off (except for one), so was very hard to put weight back on.

Fingers crossed but not too hopeful.

Dosed up ferts and got readings of 5ppm nitrates (grr) and over 5ppm phosphates (oops). Bolbitis is taking over tank. Java fern expanding - both still have I think CO2 / nitrate deficiency I think.

Fixed the blocked CO2 diffuser and added an extra half hour. So lights for 7 hours and CO2 for 8 hours. That seems to be dropping ph better. Actually had the ph probe turn injection off which I hadn’t seen for a bit.

Couple of recent photos. Plants are doing better with extra CO2 / nitrates - I’ve just got to dose more on a schedule for ferts.

Rental inspection today so just waiting to see if they say anything on the CO2 bottle.

You should invest in a dosing pump and you wont have to worry about dosing ferts.

I have been thinking about doing that but i enjoy the daily "hello fishies!" routine, especially with the baby angelfish I just picked up on the weekend. So cute!
