I cover the bottom of my shellies tanks with shells, all different sizes from small to x large lol

Looks good dude, decided on the fish yet?
If you're going down the Occelatus track you may want to find some small limestone rocks and create some physical barriers to break the line of sight between shells & fish.
I found that our females would claim 2 or 3 shells and bury them in a territory of about 10x10cm and fiercely defend them, if the line of sight was broken another female could basically start her territory on the other side of the rock.
Otherwise you end up with battered fish and a lot of completely buried unused shells (they bury the ones they don't like or aren't going to use to get rid of habitat for territorial disputes).
We had lots of success breeding this way and it seemed to keep the aggression to a minimum even with a relatively packed tank. We had about 8 in a similarly sized tank that churned out the fry.
