Hello,

I am very new to Co2. I am starting to learn and read up on it. I keep various tanks and am starting to keep plants that require Co2 to flourish.

It seems very pricey to set up a Co2 system. I am basically asking for advice from anyone that has experience in this area. I will be sourcing all products online or second hand.

Basically some questions I am asking advice for is:

  • What are some Co2 regulators + solinoids that are best bang for your buck?
  • Ph controller information.
  • Reactor, atomizer or diffuser best to use?
  • Bubble counters?
  • What is the best way to set up a system.

That is it for the meantime, I will continue to research but seems a little tricky to find a place to start.

Thanks

Aquotix Aquariums is probably the best place to start - you can see what choices are available, get all your questions answered, and get good prices for new equipment. They import most of their own CO2 gear, and they back all their equipment up with warranties and inhouse servicing.
They also currently (for the month of January) have a 20% off special on their online store (www.aquariumonlinestore.com.au) so that would be an ideal place to start for getting a better price - but you have to be quick....

I Was Gonna Say I Looked At Getting C02 Paintball Cans And Those MiniFluval Kits And At Getting Regulators / Bottles On Ebay , Looked At The Ebay Bubble Counters And There Diffusers They Looked Cheap And Nasty And Shit And The Youtube Reviews On Most Of The Products Were Negative

So I Got My Bottle From My Mate 2.6kg C02 Bottle It Was Like 200$ Then Went To Aquotix For Other Reasons And Checked Out There C02 Stuff, Was Impressed Talked To Staff Who Assured Me They Have Tested It Thoroughly Because When An Item Is Sold From A Retail Store It Has To Have A Warranty/Faulty Goods Return Policy Thingy So If They Sell Dodgy/Poorly Made Stuff People Just Bring It Back And They Loose Out.

After Hearing This I Decided I Did Value Warranty And Purchased Solenoid Regulator And A 3 Way Splitter/ Needle Valve All I Need To Do Now Is Make A Trip Down And Get Diffusers/Bubble Counters (Oh And Move House Again)

From What Ive Seen The Bubble Counters On Ebay Might Be Ok But The Diffusers Looked Crap And Apparently They Are Made Of Poor Quality Ceramic And Block Up After A Week So im Thinking Im Going To Hook It Up To The Canister With A Sera Flore Co2 Reactor

Sorry If This Post Was Long I Hope It Helped
