Has any one else put a Db monitor on their pumps?

I have a 3 foot and an 8 foot that run very quietly however recently for my home tank decided on a Tunze 5000l/h silence.  It is the noisiest pump we run and is much more expensive than our other pumps.

Has any one put a dB meter on their sump pumps?  We borrowed a gauge and this one is running at 1.2m head height and pulsing between 89dB and 63dB.  It is louder than we would watch TV and as the most expensive pump we've bought by far it is the most disappointing.  The other two sump pumps we run are at half the dB and higher head pressure.

Check that you don't have air trapped in the line. That sounds unusually noisy

Checked all the connections to make sure I'm not sucking air in anywhere.  It has a splitter to pump just into the sump and up into the main tank.  Even with a direct line from the pump, pumping with no head pressure back into the sump its the same noise.  It's still sitting at 64dB.
