hi guys im looking in the future to build a heated pond big enough to house a gator gar.
any info from those with big heated ponds will be great, ive got ideas though im open to any advice
remember these suckers get big

i would go for solar heating, just a regualr panel on the roof and a utility pump controlled via thermostat to pump water up to it and a return to the pond from it. smile.gif

That would take a serious pond Steve.

I did see Terrys pond last week and he has some great ideas working there.
Hopefully he can give you some pointers.

im thinking around 6m x 4m x 2m and a couple of 1000lrt totes as the filters - maybe

might even see if i can rent the heated inside pool off em, how long you reckon it would take to get around 6 foot, 5 years maybe????

yeah that hystrix is massive, those other deformed ones were hystrix aswell (the ones that had the weird heads)
