Hi all
I've seen some aquascape on the net using stainless steel mesh to grow Java moss on it. Has anyone on this forum tried it? If so, how do you tie the moss to the mesh?

Hi jason. I have been doing this for years, creating complete moss wall backgrounds for some of my aquariums. I use the fine ss mesh and cut it double the length required, get your moss and lay it in strips down one side (dont clump it up).. Fold The side with no moss over the top of the other, folding over the edges, cut off any sharp bits.. Then ready to use, either hung in and aquarium or pushed up hard on the rear of the glass. Tbe moss will become a thick carpet within a month or two.. Only coming out the side facing the light.. hope this helps. I can post pics of one of my aquariums with it done if it helps..

Ive got/use slate pieces for grafting anubias, looks far better IMO.

I use super glue, cheap off the shelf Kmart stuff. Eventually breaks down I can see and the Anubis roots take hold within weeks.

As for mosses, I think fishing line for a few weeks/months and hope it takes.
