Hey guys, How are you all?

...as a few of you may well know myself and Ardy have been on hiatus from the fish scene for a couple of years now. We have still kept a few species but not really breeding or anything. We have been off working on our careers and conquering the local music and photography scenes etc. haha.
Also... we recently had our first born son:

Announcement: Ardy & I recently had a son! cheesy.gif

So, 6 weeks ago Lisa and I welcomed into the world our first born child, Link Atticus Perera and I thought some of your guys here might have been interested to know and possibly even see some pics. smiley.gif

Here are some pics:

Being that we're stuck at home a lot more again now it seemed appropriate to start firing up the fish room again. :)
I hope to be able to get out a bit more again and be involved in the hobby again, would like to actually get to my first PCS meeting one day soon. Thanks all for your time and I look forward to catching up with some of you soon. :D

I used to run 42 tanks in the fish room at one stage. haha. Culled it down to about 22 now, that I run on and off depending on need.
I still have a couple of your so called 'bread and butter' fish/cichlid species that I have kept for many years now.
Not sure what new stuff I will get, got plenty of room now. haha. hmm. I'd like to maybe try my hand at discus breeding again one day, not sure I want to rush straight into that however.
Maybe some Tangs, I've always wanted to try my hand at melongeny's or furcifurs... always open to suggestions.
What do you guys suggest as good species to look into these days?

Congratz on the birth of your first son

Not sure what you want to get back into , But I think the best advice is what ever YOU like is the most important thing

Cheers Rich. :)
Some good advice there. Yeah I'm not in any rush to just go filling my tanks willy-nilly. haha
More looking to find species that peak my interest, fit in with my schedule and setup in fish room, but also stuff that we could prob use a few more of circulating in WA.
There seem to be a lot of species that seemed to be everywhere ten years ago that just seem almost non-existent today in our local hobby.
So yeah I'm always open to suggestions for species to look into if anyone happens to have suggestions.
Also pretty keen to meet a few more peeps around the traps and see who the players are in the hobby these days. :)

Cheers Chopstick_mike. Yeah I want to check out Rob's in Malaga as I havn't been there as of yet. Might be good to go see what they have as fare as rarer tangs.
And cheers for the heads up about Victorians at Aquotix. I had wondered whether there were many Vics around atm. Be interesting to see what they have got. :)

Wow, really good work there Chopstick_mike. I know how hard it can be to source some of the Victorian species here in Perth.
I used to keep and breed astitotilapia latifasciata and Nyerieri Python Island years ago.
I hope you can get them breeding and circulate some of those Victorians, because I truly feel they are quite often underrated in the world of cichlids in aquaria here in Perth.

Good luck man, I hope to see photos and updates of those colorful Vics. :)
