If you ring a landscaper they can normally give you flat un cut pavers (mix of shapes) for bugger all

There's a tile place in midland/midvale area (Classical Slate & Tile Midland) that sold me a sqaure metre of slate tile for about $35. Little bit thicker than the stuff in your pictures but was still great for my pleco caves.
