I got outbid on the T's Krystal. Talk about Tang night! T's, occies, trets... the list goes on.

I came away with a pair of WC Kribs, male BN and some funky lookin CA (can't remember the name).

That first bag of Botia kubotai loaches went for a steal. I think we'll need to also include the retail price for some of these fish. What are they like $60ea RRP?

Thanks to all that came and contributed. Was another good turnout.

Well if tropheus are what the masses want, I will have to discount the 100s of imported Trophs we still have in stock..... check out Aquotix this weekend..... wink.gif

And the Botia Kubotai might have to be discounted too if people find the price too high...... the going rate over east is $65ea, plus freight.... Ill see what I can do with the prices.....

Hi everyone.

Thank you for organising the Auction, it was a great night with some interesting lots.

Just wanted to provide some feedback/suggestions.

I noticed yesterday someone had a lot of problems displaying the images on the projector.

I’m in no way saying that I could have done a better job, I just thought you could maybe organise the photos into lots.

Ie: Lot 1 = Lot 1.jpg, Lot 2 = Lot 2.jpg etc…

This way you would simply need to click next instead of franticly finding the image before the betting completes.

I’ve personally have kept cichlids for around 15years but don’t know the names of each cichlid. However once I see a picture I know a lot more about the purchase.

Yesterday I came home with something that I thought was something completely different unsure.gif . Now I feel that it’s my responsibility to know exactly what they are bidding on and no one else’s. smile.gif

However displaying pictures may:
1) Provide more detail to the bidder about the fish.
2) Create a higher price for the seller, as it would maybe show more interest.

Please don’t see this as a complaint, I just simply wanted to forward a suggestion in a may of making the job easier for the committee and the bidders on the night.

And yes this will only work if people pre-book the fish lots in before the night. smile.gif

Having a list of pics to go with the the lots pre-done is a very good ideabut as you say this is only poss when the lots are pre booked well in advance.not 100 percent sure but I think Ronny did try this once before.
Out of 108 lots ony 30 odd were prebooked by the end of the weekend before the auction, this leaves very little time to get a photo list going.

It is encouraged that people wanting a pic of there fish to be displayed send the pic when they prebook there lots but this did not happen.

For the next auction I will have a go at doing a list of pics up at the same time.

Good job last night Brad welldone.gif

And to everyone else that helped biggrin.gif

I did try in the past to get pictures for all the lots, but as Brad said, it's a bit hard to prepare pictures for lots that you don't know are coming lol.
Also, trying to put pictures in some sort of order becomes a bit of a hassle as last minute changes always happen, eg. people don't show up, fish are too small to sell, extra lots added etc. One of the other challenges is trying to vary the list to ensure there isn't 10 lots of BNs in a row, so we have to try and keep the list flexible.

I admit though, last night was a bit of a shit fight in regards to pics (my apologies), I'm currently working on a folder that will be alot more organised and easier to navigate through for future auctions wink.gif

Hope it wasnt the photo of the L046 that had you confused LOL jks

I agree with you, and was saying the same thing to Phil & Ant. A big job yes, It would be nice if everyone pre booked their lots, it makes it SO much easier for the people behind the auction.
One thing I would also like to see changed:

If a lot has a reserve, Dont mention it until the bid goes to that amount. Example:

Lot 1: Electric Blue Male, Has a reserve of $20

Starting bid $5
Next bid $8 and so on until bid reaches $20, then auctioneer says OK, this fish is now for sale.

I believe this would work a lot better and would make more $$ for the seller and the PCS wink.gif

Great job last night guys, Especially Col who flew threw the lots and made it an early night.
I ended up with some awesome Mags, I forgot how good they are. Much better then the internet. If your reading this Dom (Dont know your forum name), Once your finished with the lot you bought, If your interested in swapping for some I bought let me know.

Most defiantly, I find them so much more interesting than scanning the net for info. I took one to bed last night and found some info about breeding Black Neon's, Might have to give it a bash.
Were they your's?

Good to hear most of you had a good night. Some good comments & suggestions there guys.

Re - (Az) reserves :- The way you suggest would work when we have a lesser number of lots & we have the time .

We have tried it before. We started the bids at $2, worked up to $20, then stated that the reserve of $25 had not been reached & so it was withdrawn. When this happens to a few lots, this time adds up. When, as in this case we had over 200 lots it was decided that this wasted too much time, so we reverted to stating the reserve before any bids were taken.

Most members I have spoken to over the years, although they love the Auction, they prefer to get it over as quick as possible so they can go home. smile.gif

Cheers
Col (Auctioneer)
