#347941 Wtb: Frag/shallow Tank 3X2X1 (Max) Need Asap

Posted by 0zarrian on 18 December 2015 - 05:26 PM in Classifieds

Im looking for a shallow tank no longer than 3ft, 2ft deep and 1 ft high. depth and height aren't to big of an issue, more just the length.

Preferably without any bracing

Going to be used as a frag tank so doesn't have to be pretty, an old sump and i can remove to baffles if needed.

text me please as not always on computer

Thanks

#338185 200L Marine

Posted by 0zarrian on 28 April 2015 - 08:42 PM in Marine Discussion, Photos & Journals

Hey, im only new to marine but have done a lot of reading, (I don't know that much.... just a little) canister filters are no good for a reef system, stick to Live rock and a skimmer. i have a nano 60L with about 15Kg of live rock, which iv had for about 9 months problem free. stock is 2 small-medium clowns, a blue/green chromis and a peppermint shrimp and a few corals, an elegance, 3 zoa rocks, xenia, shrooms and some disk corals and i do a weekly 10% water change. also make sure you use RO/DI water. i am currently setting up a 200L of my own an am planing on running sumpless, with a Tunzes DOC 9004 skimmer and some Sicce Voyager nano powerheads and will just do a weekly water change with RO / salt mix.

I recommend head down to Vebas, i know its far for you from Hillarys but the guys down there have good advice. good luck. and welcome to the salt side

Skimmers are hard to pick go larger on the capacity and go for LED for your lights, best things since sliced bread.

Posted by 0zarrian on 26 February 2015 - 03:35 PM in Marine Discussion, Photos & Journals

So i went for a walk down by point walter and theres is a nice point that sticks out in the water with loads of rocks just under the water, thought I would have a look, sure enough first rock i picked up had these snails all over it, and what looked like some amphipods. my questions is does anyone know what type of snail these guys are and are they of any use to us and are you allowed to take rock from the beach here in WA, and if you did how would you clean it
